INTRODUCTION

This is a moderated message board that is intended to be a safe, private place where you can communicate with others. It should be especially helpful if you are homebound or unable to attend traditional support group meetings. This message board will provide an interactive discussion format with others who also have mycoplasma. Input and guidance to the discussions will come from the Message Board Moderator who is a registered nurse with expert knowledge of mycoplasma, its impact on one's life and how it is best managed. Membership to the message board is by permission of the message board moderator.

MESSAGE BOARD GUIDELINES

Membership to the Mycoplasma Support message board must be approved by the Moderator.

As a message board member, you shall not post or transmit through the message board any material that violates or infringes in any way upon the rights of others, which is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, vulgar, obscene, profane or otherwise objectionable, which encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, gives rise to civil liability or otherwise violates any law.

Any conduct by a message board member, that, in the Moderator's discretion, restricts or inhibits any other user from using or enjoying the message board will not be permitted.

Neither you nor the moderator shall use the message board to advertise or perform any commercial solicitation.

The Moderator shall have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor the content of message board discussions to determine compliance with the guidelines. The Moderator shall have the right to edit, refuse to post or remove any material submitted to or posted on the message board. If discussions violate the guidelines, any or all of the following may occur at the moderator's discretion: Personal or public warnings, posting restriction or revocation of membership.

Opinions posted on the Mycoplasma Support message board, as well as other content published with an attribution, represent the views of the authors and are not necessarily the opinion of Mycoplasma Support.

Provisions are in place to protect your privacy and confidentiality. You will NOT be required to give personal information, such as name, address, or telephone number in order to gain membership to the message board. You will, however, be required to create a user ID and a personal password in order to obtain membership. This data will be linked with your email address for verification. Only the moderator of the message board and the message board hosting company will have access to the user ID, and the member's email address for purposes of administering the message board only. This information will be kept strictly confidential and will not be used or sold for any other purpose. In addition, your personal password will be encrypted for protection.

All messages posted to the message board are the property of Mycoplasma Support. You are not allowed to republish material without permission. Message board member passwords and email addresses are strictly confidential.

Those who do not abide by the guidelines will be immediately removed from the message board list of registered users.

PRIVACY POLICY

As a registered message board member you are advised to think carefully before disclosing any personally identifiable or personal health information in any public forum.

No personal identifying information will be collected from you unless you volunteer the information on the application for admission as a registered user of the message board.

For purposes of message board administration, only two items of information will be collected: your email address and your personal user identification (User ID--volunteered by you upon application for membership as a registered user of the message board).

Message board discussions will be monitored by the Mycoplasma Support administrator/moderator who is a registered nurse. But, no information will be collected or reproduced regarding the contents of the discussions. All contents of message board discussions will remain within the message board forum.

Confidential information about you, including identity, personal information, and password will not be collected by Mycoplasma Support. Listings of email address and usernames are respected, and will be protected by the Mycoplasma Support administrator. The Mycoplasma Support administrator and message board server will be the only ones having access to this confidential information.

Under no circumstances will information about you be shared with another message board member or a person or agency outside the Mycoplasma Support community without your express approval.
